Beverages

Now that I've covered some of the advice for food, which was to keep as many things organic as possible, I figured the next step would be to offer some advice on how to go about choosing drinks for a healthy lifestyle. With tons of unhealthy options out there such as soda's, energy drinks, GMO fruit/vegetable juices, coffee, alcohol etc, etc (try to stay away from all of these), it can be really difficult finding out the things that you should actually be drinking when trying to live a truely healthy lifestyle. With that said, I believe that the main source of hydration should be water, preferrably the kind that comes from a spring. I'd recommend checking out this website to find the one nearest to you; http://www.findaspring.com/ and buying some big several-gallon glass jugs, perhaps from Ebay or Amazon, and filling those up at the spring and using that as your main source of drinking water. If there's not a spring close by to where you live, I'd recommend buying water that's sold in glass bottles. My personal favorite brand is http://www.mountainvalleyspring.com/. It's important to get beverages in glass bottles because drinking water, or any other drink that's sold in a plastic bottle, will present the problem of ingesting Bisphenol A (BPA). BPA is a harmful chemical found in plastic that leaches off into the beverage and can lead to many health problems down the road. More information on that can be found here: http://www.naturalnews.com/033821_BPA_chemicals.html.
Glass bottles are the way to go, but if those arn't available, try to look for any brands that have BPA-free labels. A good example is http://pentawater.com/_pw/index.php.
Besides that, I'd recommend all kinds of organic juices and organic fruit smoothies. I personally try to avoid dairy, but if you're looking for a safe and healthy brand, I'd recommend http://www.stonyfield.com/products/stonyfield/milk/half-gallon/fat-free and for all the vegans out there looking for a good alternative to milk, my favorite is http://www.pacificfoods.com/our-foods/nut-grain-beverages. The great thing about Pacific Foods alternatives to milk is that most of them don't contain soy, which a lot of research suggests is harmful to male hormones.
That should cover everything, or atleast the basics. Hope you enjoyed reading this and that you can benefit from this information.
